Inspired by the magical atmosphere of “One Thousand and One Nights” this ballet transports the audience into the world of Eastern fairy tales.
Scheherazade, whose name means “daughter of the city,” tells the sultan new stories night after night. Each tale seems to stop time and open the doors to a world of fantasy. The original production features music by two great composers—Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Aram Khachaturian—creating a rich musical palette that enhances the drama.
