“The Nutcracker” by P. I. Tchaikovsky is one of the most famous and beloved holiday ballets. It is based on the novella “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” by the romantic writer Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann, which describes a Christmas evening in a small German town.
Tchaikovsky composed wonderful music filled with deep meaning for this fairy-tale story. He created a symphonic poem about childhood, about the maturation of the soul, about the wonders of Christmas night, about the battle of light and darkness, about pure love. Airy snowflakes, scary and funny rats, masterfully dancing dolls - all together immerses the viewer in the atmosphere of a bright holiday.
Picturesque scenery, costumes and, of course, great music create an atmosphere of magic and inspire viewers of all ages. The Nutcracker makes innovative use of musical imagery and stands apart from the tradition of the ballet genre.
The grace and precision of the dancers of a first-class international troupe bring to life the characters and emotions put into each pirouette by the composer and choreographer.
European Classical Ballet consists of first-class ballet dancers from such European countries as: England, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, who annually visit many cities around the world on tour.
